The Public Services Librarians at the Barco Law Library located at the University of Pittsburgh are expanding their research course offerings. In addition to the basic, practical and international research skills courses currently offered, they are also presenting a new course to upper-class students. This new course is titled “Research in Intellectual Property Law and Practice.” This new fifteen week course reviews the research tools crucial to patent, copyright and trademark law. This course also explores the processes and procedures one utilizes in the relevant agencies. This course is part of a three year plan expanding research offerings to the University of Pittsburgh students. Further, in 2010, an environmental law research course will debut. RIPS members Valerie Weis, Linda Tashbook, George Pike and Marc Silverman are the course instructors.
